Despite experiencing severe headaches for the past four weeks, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev proceeded to conduct a Maha Shivaratri event on March 8th.
Health Update on Sadhguru: Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is progressing positively in his recovery and has returned to his usual state following a “life-threatening” skull bleeding incident, as stated by his attending physicians.
The lead senior consultant neurologist, who headed the medical team caring for Sadhguru, emphasized that he encountered a “life-threatening circumstance.”
Despite doctors’ advice for immediate hospitalization, Sadhguru insisted he hadn’t missed a single meeting in 40 years. Despite severe symptoms, he attended scheduled meetings on March 14th and the India Today Conclave on March 16th with the aid of high-dose painkillers.
Sadhguru, aged 66, shared a video on his Instagram page while in his hospital bed. Light-heartedly, he remarked, “The Apollo hospital neurosurgeons delved into my skull hoping to find something, but it was all empty. So they decided to close it up. Here I am in Delhi with a patched-up skull but with an intact brain.”
Sadhguru’s condition deteriorated rapidly on March 17, 2024, showing neurological decline, left leg weakness, intensified headaches, and recurrent vomiting. He was subsequently admitted. A CT scan revealed significant brain swelling and a life-threatening displacement of the brain to one side.
Under the care of a medical team comprising Dr. Vinit Suri, Dr. Pranav Kumar, Dr. Sudheer Tyagi, and Dr. S. Chatterjee, Sadhguru underwent emergency brain surgery shortly after being admitted to address the skull bleeding. Following the surgery, Sadhguru was successfully taken off the ventilator.
