Producer Mukut has disclosed the development of the film and hinted at an announcement that is still to be made. He further added that they are currently working on the script and they want to keep Anil Kapoor and Rani Mukerji in their respective roles.
Mukut shared with Mid-day, that the team is working on the sequel and the story will be [continued] with the existing characters. I had acquired the rights from producer AM Rathnam long time ago. We are fully scripting it at the moment with the leads in mind and simultaneously including other casts. The moment the writing is done, then we’ll figure out the next plan. We’ve got two directors we like, but we’re yet to make a final decision.
In addition, Mukut disclosed that he has talked to Anil Kapoor and Rani Mukerji, but the conversations are just at the beginning. Concerning the new characters to be introduced in the sequel, he said that depends on how the characters will change and which actors will fit them.
