On the twentieth anniversary of his father’s passing, filmmaker Karan Johar paid tribute to Yash Johar. The filmmaker posted an old picture of his late father clutching a prize along with a heartfelt message. He thought back to the moment he learned of his father’s cancer diagnosis. He claimed to have realized his biggest nightmare had come true right away.

Cherished Memories
In the message, Karan also spoke of his children, Yash and Roohi, expressing his wish that his late father had known them. “It seems unreal that 20 years have passed. Losing a parent was the thing I feared most. My father informed me that he had a malignant tumor on August 2, 2003. Even though I was staring at my greatest fear, it was my responsibility as his child to maintain my optimism and my faith. However, the fact that instincts are unreliable is their weakest quality. After ten months, he left us. He wrote, “We lost him (sic).”
Karan has insisted in past interviews that he constantly feels like his father is keeping an eye on him. “But we gained every inch of his mammoth goodwill,” he continued in the remainder of his caption. I was incredibly delighted to be the son of the most dependable, kind, and unselfish man. My mother and I continue to live by the love he left behind, putting his connections above all else. If only he knew our kids. However, I am aware that he is constantly keeping an eye on us and them. I adore you, Papa.
June 2004 saw the cancerous death of the late filmmaker Yash Johar. At the time of his father’s illness, Karan was still producing ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’. Another image he posted online on Wednesday showed his father posing with Hiroo Johar, his mother. Karan, then a teenager, was posing with him in another black-and-white photo. The remaining pictures he selected were Yash posing with friends and fellow industry professionals, such as Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra, Sridevi, and Amitabh Bachchan.
On Karan’s post, Priyanka Chopra, Janhvi Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and Hrithik Roshan left comments. To honor the late director, some performers posted heart emoticons. “The best,” Priyanka wrote, and “the best of the best,” Zoya Akhtar said.
Yash Johar: A Lasting Legacy
In 1979, Yash Johar established Dharma Productions. ‘Dostana’ (1980), ‘Agneepath’ (1990), ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ (1998), ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ (2003), and other popular movies were among the many hits that the firm created. Following his takeover of the company, Karan directed ten films, the most recent of which was ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh.
