New Delhi: In response to the Supreme Court’s decision to give bail to Manish Sisodia, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, in the liquor policy case, Atishi, the minister of education for Delhi and leader of the AAP, broke down in tears today.

Atishi’s Emotional Response
Speaking at a school in the nation’s capital, Atishi declared, “Today, the students of Delhi have triumphed; the truth has won. He was imprisoned for giving underprivileged kids a quality education.”
Leaders of the AAP referred to today’s Supreme Court decision as a “victory of truth”. Almost eighteen months after his detention in the liquor policy case, Mr. Sisodia was given bail. In their ruling, the Supreme Court’s Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan said that Sisodia’s continued detention would be a “travesty of justice”.
AAP’s Reaction to the Bail of Manish Sisodia
Atishi continued, “This is the victory of truth.” “He was connected to a fraudulent case. He offered Delhi’s children hope for a prosperous future. We are content right now and are hoping that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will follow suit. This represents the people’s victory.”
Mr. Sisodia has been at the center of the issue surrounding the now-canceled Delhi excise policy 2021–22 since his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation on February 26 of last year. On March 9, 2023, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) detained him concerning a money laundering case that was the result of the CBI’s First Information Report (FIR). Two days later, on February 28, Mr. Sisodia resigned from his position as minister.
The Liquor Policy Case: Background and Legal Proceedings
Arvind Kejriwal is one of several prominent people who have been arrested in connection with the case’s judicial battle. A Delhi court on Thursday extended Mr. Kejriwal’s judicial detention until August 20 in connection with the current Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) corruption investigation. Following Mr. Kejriwal’s video conference appearance before the court, Special Judge Kaveri Baweja, who presided over the case, decided to prolong his custody.
While in judicial custody at Tihar Jail, where he was being held in connection with a money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Mr. Kejriwal, 55, was first arrested by the CBI on June 26. On March 21, the ED had already arrested him.
Mr. Kejriwal is still detained in Tihar Jail because he has not yet provided the necessary bail bond, even though the Supreme Court granted him temporary bail in the ED case on July 12.
