    Arriving on April 5, “Dukaan” marks the directorial debut of Siddharth Singh and Garima Wahal, a screenwriter team. Sikandar Kher, Monika Panwar, Monali Thakur, Soham Majumdar, and Vrajesh Hirjee make cameo appearances in the movie. “Dukaan” is a story of Jasmine (Panwar), a young woman who bravely decides to become a surrogate mother.

    “Through Jasmine’s narrative lens, the film delves into crucial themes of dignity, freedom of choice, and the autonomy of women engaged in commercial surrogacy,” the creators stated in a press release.

    Siddharth-Garima, renowned for their roles in movies like “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha,” “Ram-Leela,” and “Kabir Singh,” expressed their hope. They hope that “Dukaan’s societal message will provoke thought-provoking discussions. They believe that the film’s message will spark meaningful conversations. Siddharth-Garima anticipate that audiences will engage in thought-provoking discussions about the societal issues addressed in “Dukaan.” They are optimistic that the film will inspire positive change and awareness.

    “In our film, we aim to navigate the emotional roller coaster experienced by couples undertaking the journey of surrogacy,” the directors stated in a joint statement. They also expressed their intention to delve into the ethical and moral complexities often brushed aside in societal discourse. The directors emphasized their commitment to exploring the multifaceted aspects of surrogacy. They aim to shed light on the emotional, ethical, and moral dilemmas faced by individuals involved in the surrogacy process. Through their film, the directors seek to provoke meaningful conversations and raise awareness about these important issues.

    Siddharth-Garima’s Work in the Movie

    During the release of the movie’s trailer recently, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga gave special recognition to Siddharth-Garima, who worked with him on “Kabir Singh” and wrote the song “Satranga” from “Animal”.

    “I know Siddharth-Garima’s journey with this film and I hold them in regards because I think they are wonderful writers, one of the best in this country,” Vanga said.

    Along with being lyricists, Siddharth-Garima is also known for songs like “Pinga,” “Deewani Mastani,” and “Mohe Rang Do Laal” from “Bajirao Mastani.” They are also credited for “Nainowale Ne” from “Padmaavat.” Siddharth-Garima’s lyrical prowess has contributed to the success of these iconic songs. They have left an indelible mark in the realm of Bollywood music with their memorable compositions.

    Siddharth-Garima’s Kalamkaar Picture Productions and Waveband Productions, led by A Jhunjhunwala and S K Ahluwalia, produce “Dukaan.”
