After months of separation rumors, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have officially filed for divorce. On Tuesday, August 20, the day of their second wedding anniversary, Lopez filed for divorce without the use of an attorney, according to court records that TMZ was able to get. The singer of the song “On The Floor,” who has recently been seen out and about in her wedding band, designated April 26, 2024, as the date of separation. Notably, this is Ben and Jennifer’s second and fourth divorces, respectively.

No Prenuptial Agreement Exists With Jennifer Lopez
According to Daily Mail, insiders have stated that the pair did not sign a prenuptial agreement before their July 2022 wedding. Ben and Jennifer’s independent income for the preceding two years, including any earnings from significant brand deals, in the absence of the agreement. Even though Jennifer is not requesting spousal support for herself, the court filings showed that she requested the judge to deny it for Ben as well.
What Caused Their Divorce, and Why?
According to TMZ, Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben in their continuing financial fight. According to insiders, they both spent several months engaged in contentious settlement talks. Ben and Jennifer have occasionally stopped talking to each other. One year after purchasing it for $60 million, they listed their $68 million marital home in Beverly Hills for sale in May. They tried to sell the large property off-market, but in June they listed it for public sale.

The pair haven’t been seen together in public since June 2, but Jennifer observed him leaving his Brentwood rental home, which rents for $100,000 a month, this week. She was there to celebrate his 52nd birthday with his children and 51-year-old ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Ben was not present at Jennifer’s lavish, Bridgerton-themed 55th birthday celebration in The Hamptons in late July. On the filming of their film Gigli in December 2001, they both got to know one another.
