On June 9, Nag Ashwin, the writer and director of Kalki 2898 AD, released the teaser. Fans are now unable to remain composed as the film stars big-name actors like Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan.
Inspired by Hindu texts, Kalki 2898 AD takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD. It is the most costly Indian film to date, with a ₹600 crore budget. It was originally supposed to be released on May 9, but the Lok Sabha Elections of 2024 caused a delay. June 27 is the new date for release everywhere.
The film chronicles a trip from the Mahabharata in 3102 BC to 2898 AD and is set in the fabled and dystopian city of Varanasi. The focus of it is Kalki, the Hindu god Vishnu’s tenth avatar.

Within 14 hours, the trailer had over 1 crore views. It was mentioned by several enthusiasts that they had viewed it fifty times.

The publication stated that Deepika Padukone was paid ₹20 crore, while Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan received ₹18 crore and “Universal Hero” Kamal Hassan ₹20 crore out of the movie’s ₹600-crore budget. Prabhas reportedly charged ₹150 crore for the film.
