The Deadpool Killer, Wade Wilson, was given a death sentence on Tuesday, August 27, for his heinous murder of two people in Florida “for the sake of killing.” The Fort Myers killer, 30, looked calm as Lee Circuit Judge Nicholas Thompson executed him. He had tattoos.
“The evidence demonstrates how horrible, horrific, and brutal the murders were. Circuit Judge Nicholas Thompson informed the courtroom, “that the second murder was cold, calculated, and premeditated,” as reported by the New York Post. Wilson was convicted in June of killing 35-year-old Kristine Melton and 43-year-old Diane Ruiz on a night in October of 2019. The death penalty was the jury’s proposed punishment.

Wade Wilson : Who is He?
Wilson is named after the Marvel anti-hero Ryan Reynolds made famous. Prosecutors claim that on that fatal night, following a drug-fueled sexual encounter with Melton, he first strangled her in her house. Then he took Melton’s car and used the victim’s phone to call his girlfriend, Melissa Montanez, who is 41 years old. She refused to get inside the car when he continued to attack her.
Wilson then encountered Ruiz at Cape Coral, who was requesting instructions. Ruiz was thrown out of the car after he invited her inside and strangled her. Afterwards, he came back and ran Ruiz over “until she looked like spaghetti,” according per trial testimony. The court was earlier informed by Assistant State Attorney Andreas Gardiner that “this case was about killing for the sake of the killing.” “The ultimate example of life slipping through someone’s hands is strangulation.”
The Crimes: Brutal Murders Fueled by Drug-Rage
Wilson received thousands of X-rated pictures and love messages during his five years in prison. Notable serial killers Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Richard Ramirez are just a few violent individuals who have been the subject of this strange tendency while incarcerated.
Regarding Wilson, the judge had multiple letters pleading with him to ignore his tattoos since, as many thought, he was a different person when taking medicine. Wilson’s counsel argued that he was abandoned because his biological parents had placed him for adoption and that he had brain damage from drug addiction.
Public Reaction and Unsettling Admiration for a Convicted Killer
The murderer’s adoptive parents pleaded with the judge to spare him the capital punishment. The parents said in a letter that “the human is still in there.” They wrote, “Please see it in your heart not to take our son.” Wilson was also found guilty of violence, petit theft, grand theft, and residential burglary.
According to reports, Melton’s cousin Samantha Kelly, who requested to remain anonymous, claimed that the period between the deaths and the sentencing felt like “five years of agony.” Felix Ruiz, the father of Ruiz, stated that he would like to witness Wilson’s death. Felix reportedly said, “I didn’t get to say I love her,” as reported by The News-Press. “I miss her.”
