Devender Yadav Criticizes AAP’s Handling of Power
Delhi Congress head Devender Yadav criticized the AAP for how it handled the situation while speaking to a group. “The AAP made bold promises to lower electricity costs and provide free water supplies throughout their 2013 campaign. People are experiencing regular power outages these days, but their electricity costs are rising,” he claimed.
The demonstration followed a large increase in electricity rates brought on by the implementation of the Power Purchase Adjustment Cost (PPAC). Electricity distribution firms impose a fee known as the PPAC to offset the cost of purchasing power, which is subject to fluctuations in fuel prices and market rates.
Historical Context and Political Implications
Customers receive variable electricity bills as a result of this modification, which is examined and applied regularly. Yadav referred to the AAP as the BJP’s “B-team” and charged that the party had broken its pledges. “One engages in corruption while the other keeps quiet. People’s worries are only taken up by Congress, he claimed.
The history of the problem stems from the pledges the AAP made during its 2013 campaign. At that time, the AAP had promised to lower electricity rates and offer a reliable, reasonably priced power source. The AAP government has been urged by the Delhi Congress to act immediately to alleviate the escalating costs of power and offer assistance to the public.
Conclusion
The AAP and Congress will compete independently in the next Delhi Assembly elections that are set for next year, despite having contested the Lok Sabha elections together. The Congress and the BJP plan to use the AAP’s power tariff hike, water crisis, and pollution as their primary campaign topics in the run-up to the Assembly elections.
