Following a complaint from a local farmer who accused Manorama Khedkar of uttering threats, Pune Rural Police filed a formal complaint (FIR) at Paud police station against the parents of trainee IAS official Pooja Khedkar, Manorama Khedkar, Dilip Khedkar, and five other people.

    Complaint and FIR Details

The FIR was registered by sections 323, 504, and 506 of the IPC, according to ANI, which cited the Senior Police Inspector of the Paud Police Station. According to the authorities, there are also charges under the Arms Act.

Puja Khedkar, an IAS officer from the 2023 batch, is accused of lying about her UPSC candidacy by calling herself an OBC non-creamy layer candidate. She also asserted that she had mental and visual impairments, but she refused tests to support her claims.

    Viral Video Incident

Puja Khedkar, an IAS officer, is facing more difficulties after a video of her mother pointing a gun at a group of men went viral. The incident on camera concerns a plot of land in Dhadwali village, Mulshi tehsil, Pune, that Puja’s father, Dilip Khedkar, a former Maharashtra government officer, bought.

The Khedkars were accused by the locals of intruding on the land of nearby farmers. In the video, Manorama Khedkar gets into a violent argument with neighbors being escorted by security guards. She is seen brandishing a firearm at a man and then hiding it in her hand.

    Police Response

“We are aware of the footage that is doing the rounds on social media. We will begin a probe as soon as the facts are determined. We’ll look into whether Manorama Khedkar is legally allowed to own the gun,” a top Pune Rural police officer told PTI.

Regarding the incident, farmer Kuldeep Pasalkar said Manorama Khedkar was attempting to take his land by force. “She has also been making threats against other farmers. With a gun in her hand, she came to my plot with a few security guards and began threatening us, Pasalkar claimed.

    Potential Consequences for Pooja Khedkar

PTI was informed by official sources that Puja Khedkar, an IAS officer on probation, would lose her job if she is proven to be at fault. She will have all of the documentation she presented for her civil services examination candidacy and subsequent selection into the service reevaluated by a one-member committee that the Center constituted on Thursday.

“If the cop is found guilty, their employment may be terminated. Should it be discovered that she manipulated or falsified any information in the records that were used to make her choice, she might also be charged with a crime, according to a source.
