With their thorough and creative patriotic showcase, the Market Welfare Association (MWA) of Sector 22 and the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector 44 won first place in the municipal corporation’s (MC) “Tiranga Pratiyogita,” a citywide competition held as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

Sector 22 and Sector 44 Lead the Way with Patriotic Displays

From August 10 to August 12, a group of outside assessors went to several MWAs and assessed their patriotic exhibits. The MWAs repurposed their facilities to create colorful memorials to the country that featured a diverse array of artistic expressions.

Three MWAs were particularly notable for their outstanding displays. Despite its smaller size, Sector-49 market took second place because to its lively atmosphere and careful eco-friendly décor. Sector-24 market’s inventive use of discarded materials and striking rangoli helped it to the third place.

Creative Patriotism: A Showcase of Innovation and National Pride

The “Har Mohalla Tiranga Partiyogita” invited RWAs to take part in the festivities in addition to the MWA competition. Through a variety of events and exhibits, the RWAs demonstrated their inventiveness and zeal while emphasizing the value of national pride and the relevance of the Tiranga. First place went to Sector-44 RWA, second place went to Sector-33 RWA, and third place went to RWAs in Sectors 27 and 22 B.

Highlights from the RWA competitions included a vibrant show in Sector 51 with young children dressed as Indian freedom fighters, a special handmade sheet paper meshing and inventive selfie station with the peacock, India’s national bird, in Sector 38, and a stirring play/act by senior citizens (women) in Sector 22 that emphasized the significance of the Tiranga.

Highlights from MWA and RWA Competitions

During the Independence Day program on Thursday, the victors will be presented with awards. On Wednesday in Nehru Park, Sector 22, during Tiranga Samman Samaroh, the participants will be honored.

As part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, some 500 sanitation workers from Chandigarh city and MC officials participated in a major “Tiranga Yatra” on Tuesday to celebrate India’s 78th anniversary. Under the direction of MC commissioner Anindita Mitra, the demonstration began at Water Works in Sector 15, traveled through a number of marketplaces, and ended at Water Works in Sector 37.
