In an entirely new twist to the sensational Pune crash case involving a Porsche involved in a fatal collision with a motorbike in which two youths were killed, the 17-year-old accused has confessed to the police that his family driver was driving the car during the accident. According to India Today, two other persons who accompanied the minor at the time have corroborated his story.
The two others in the car with the accused teenager during the fatal Sunday morning accident, a friend, and the family driver were interrogated by the police on Thursday. Initially, the driver had stated that it was he who was driving the car when the said fatal crash occurred. The minor’s father has likewise started that the family driver was the one behind the wheel of the Porsche on the day of the tragedy, as cited in India Today.
Moreover, the police interrogated the grandfather of the accused teenager in relation to the offense registered against the juvenile’s father and some employees of the school, as well as the owner of two bar restaurants located in the Mundhwa area, as mentioned in PTI. The grandfather had taken his son to the police commissioner’s office to clarify some issues that had emerged.
The JJB sent the teenager to the observation home on Wednesday following a much-publicized issue of quick bail and the police review plea. A senior police official said that the juvenile delinquent would go through an observation home, where he would also be subjected to psychological tests. The minor has been booked under the Indian Penal Code for sections 304, 304 A involving causing death through culpable negligence, rash driving, and sections of the Motor Vehicle Act.
Soon it was revealed that the teenager’s grandfather, who started building a business in the family, is allegedly connected with the underworld. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has recently brought a chargesheet against the grandfather for his involvement in the conspiracy of hiring a mercenary from Chhota Rajan group to eliminate a Shiv Sena corporator, Ajay Bhosale, in 2009. The CBI has said the alleged plot was hatched by the grandfather who wanted Bhosale killed by Chhota Rajan after the former failed to mediate in a property dispute between him and his brother.
