Probationary IAS officer Dr. Pooja Khedkar was transferred by the Maharashtra government from Pune to Washington due to allegations of power abuse. She will now work for Washim as a super numery assistant collector.

Following a letter to the Chief Secretary from Pune Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase, this action was taken. “The 2023 batch IAS officer will serve the remaining period of her probation as supernumerary assistant collector in Washim district,” the decree read.
After requesting special rights from the Collector’s office that were not granted to probation officers, Khedkar courted trouble. She also caused a stir in the administration by driving her own Audi, which had a VIP number plate and a red-blue beacon light. Additionally, she had a “Maharashtra government” board mounted on her vehicle.
Unwarranted Requests and Actions
Unfair requests made by Khedkar included lodging, a constable, an official chamber staffed by enough people, and an official car with a VIP number plate. Regulations provide that a trainee must first be appointed as a gazetted officer and is not entitled to the aforementioned benefits.
Khedkar, though, didn’t stop there. Additionally, she posted a sign bearing her name in the antechamber of supplementary collector Ajay More when he was absent. Even the seats, couches, and tables were taken out by Khedkar, who achieved an All India Rank of 841 in UPSC, without the other collector’s prior permission.

Subsequently, she gave the revenue assistant instructions to furnish her with a letterhead, visiting card, paperweight, nameplate, royal seal, and intercom. Reportedly, Khedkar’s father, a former administrative officer, threatened the officers with consequences and put pressure on the District Collector’s office to comply with his daughter’s demands.

Pooja Khedkar, an OBC non-creamy layer citizen, rose to the rank of IAS officer, according to RTI campaigner Vijay Kumbhar. However, her father’s election declaration revealed that he was worth a staggering Rs 40 crore.
How can this kind of revenue be classified as non-creamy? She has acknowledged that she has numerous impairments and is mentally sick. She did, however, repeatedly avoid medical exams. How was she eligible for the IAS? These are significant issues, the campaigner remarked.
