    22 coaches of the Sabarmati Express, which was traveling from Varanasi to Sabarmati, derailed close to Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh early on Saturday morning, causing much grief. The incident happened close to the Bhimsen area, just after the train left Kanpur.

Details on the event were revealed by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who said on X, “At 02:35 am today, the Sabarmati Express engine (Varanasi to Amdavad) struck an object placed on the track and derailed near Kanpur.” There are noticeable, sharp hit marks. Proof is shielded. Police from UP and IB are also focusing on it.”

    Even though the evacuation was successful, the incident had a significant impact on rail travel, and the route is currently stopped. This segment serves as an important train corridor from Kanpur to Mumbai. Indian Railways has made arrangements for buses to help with the passenger movement to Kanpur in response to the emergency.
