Travel influencer Aanvi Kamdar, 27, of Mumbai, passed away while filming an Instagram reel and fell into a ravine. On July 16, Kamdar, a chartered accountant who posted travelogues on Instagram under the username @theglocaljournal, visited the well-known Kumbhe waterfall in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. Seven of her pals were around her, said Pakistani news agency PTI.

     Immediate Rescue Efforts

According to a Mangaon police station spokesman, Kamdar slipped into a 300-foot gorge while filming a movie. Her companions informed the local authorities, who promptly took action. NDTV said the Maharashtra State Electricity Board employees, the Coast Guard, and the Kolad rescue squad assisted the crew.

“As soon as we arrived, it became apparent that the girl had fallen between 300 and 350 feet. It was pouring wet and she was hurt, so even when they got to her, it was hard to bring her up. Thus, we decided to use a vertical pulley to free her,” a rescuer told NDTV.

    Kamdar’s Untimely Travel Demise

Large stones kept cascading down the gorge, hampering the rescue effort, another rescue participant told Lokmat. After an operation lasting six hours, Kamdar was retrieved from the gorge. She did, however, sustain severe injuries in the collision and pass away in the hospital from those wounds.

According to a Mangaon police station official, after her rescuers brought her to the adjacent Mangaon taluka government hospital, she passed away while receiving treatment. When viewing waterfalls during the rainy season, visitors have been advised by authorities to exercise particular caution.

    Conclusion

The tragic death of Aanvi Kamdar serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers present in natural environments, especially during adverse weather conditions. Authorities emphasize the importance of exercising extreme caution when visiting waterfalls and similar sites during the rainy season. Kamdar’s passion for travel and adventure inspired many, and her loss is deeply felt by her followers and loved ones.
