Earlier today, NSA Jake Sullivan also held a meeting with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. He is also expected to pay a courtesy call to the Prime Minister.
Today, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, who arrived in New Delhi for a two-day official visit, met with his Indian counterpart, Ajit Doval.
Jake Sullivan is joined by other high-ranking US government officials and representatives of industrial sectors.
The two NSAs meet frequently on bilateral, regional, and global matters. The current visit further deepens their strategic dialogue on the diverse and comprehensive agenda of the India-US Global Strategic Partnership.

The India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (CET), which was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joseph Biden during the Quad Leaders Summit held in Tokyo on May 24, 2022, has been successfully advancing by the two NSAs with focused efforts to initiate potential engagements in the identified areas of cooperation across multiple domains of new as well as emerging technologies such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, defense innovation,
In subsequent meetings, both sides have introduced new fields into the iCET framework, including biotechnology, critical minerals and rare earth processing technologies, digital connectivity and digital infrastructure, and advanced materials. The continuous visit helps the NSAs assess their performance and come up with new objectives and milestones for iCET.
In the day, the NSAs will consider bilaterals, as well as, reflect on the India-US cooperation on matters of convergence of regional and global interest. They will also lead the first annual assessment of iCET accompanied by an interdepartmental delegation between two countries. On 18 June, the NSAs will speak to the participants at the India-US iCET Roundtable with Industry CEOs, and CII event.
