    Security has been tightened in Delhi ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a record third term tomorrow. Provisions have also been made for the world leaders with the grand ceremony that is set to be staged.

    Here are the 10 most recent and biggest developments of this story

    1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be sworn in along with other new members of his cabinet tomorrow evening at Rashtrapati Bhawan in the Union capital. He shall be the first three-term Prime Minister to occupy the office of the premier since the founder of the Congress party and the foremost independence freedom fighter, Jawaharlal Nehru.
    2. Security has been strengthened in Rashtrapati Bhawan where he will be sworn in by President Droupadi Murmu through a three-barrier system. Anticipating the event, Delhi Police officials informed that the SWAT team along with commandos belonging to the National Security Guard (NSG) will be posted near the venue as well as at other sensitive areas since the capital city is on high alert throughout the event.
    3. The police have restricted any form of airborne activities in the national capital and these restrictions include the prohibition on the use of drones, paragliders, remotely piloted aircraft, and hot air balloons for the next couple of days.

It is expected that heads of state of many neighboring countries such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius, and Seychelles, along with the Maldives will attend the swearing-in ceremony to underline India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy. Specific corridors from the respective hotels to the venue and from the venue back to the hotels will be designated for the dignitaries.

    5. Authorities revealed that several roads leading to central Delhi will be closed tomorrow or there will be a change of carriageway. Measures that the ministry has put in place to prevent the spread of the virus by checking vehicles getting into the national capital have already been enhanced.
    6. The incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party, the Bharatiya Janata Party, which had secured 282 seats in the 2014 election and 303 in the 2019 elections secured only 240 seats in this election, 32 short of the absolute majority mark of 272 seats.
    7. The assurance of votes of 16 TDP Lok Sabha members of the incoming Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, and 12 of the JDU of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are considered crucial in helping the BJP ensure that it forms and can function smoothly for five years.
    8. With TDP and JD(U) in focus, the two forces that have supported BJP, are now in the mood for bargaining for the posts at the Centre. Shivsena led by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and chirag paswan’s LJP party also aims at getting major positions in the new cabinet headed by PM Narendra Modi.
    9. The INDIA bloc, on the other hand, opened the BJP’s real surprisingly to challenge for a national vote that was the first since the ‘Modi wave’ brought it to power in 2014. The final count showed that the opposition alliance had secured only 232 seats – four legislative seats away from the required 272 majority mark.
    10. The Mond Congress that been leading the INDIA opposition bloc in this election achieved 99 victories out of the 328 constituencies they were fighting for.
