Xiaomi has introduced its latest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, in China, featuring a Leica-branded camera and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. This device is slated for a global debut at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra, eagerly anticipated after the release of the Xiaomi 14 series, including the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro, in China last October, boasts impressive specifications. Its standout feature is the rear quad-camera setup, developed in collaboration with Leica. This setup includes a large 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor and three additional 50-megapixel Summilux cameras, offering versatile photography capabilities. Moreover, the device incorporates Xiaomi’s custom AISP neural chip to enhance zoom and image processing.
Beyond its photography prowess, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra offers satellite connectivity for two-way communication, ensuring safety features like SOS messaging and location sharing, particularly in remote areas. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and Xiaomi’s Surge T1 communication chip, promising improved cellular speeds and connectivity. The device also features a robust “Dragon Armor” design with enhanced durability and an IP68 rating for dust and liquid protection.
In terms of display, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra sports a 6.73″ QHD+ AMOLED screen with a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals, along with an ultrasonic fingerprint reader for secure authentication.
Under the hood, it packs a 5,300mAh battery with silicon-carbon technology, enabling rapid charging with support for 90W wired and 80W wireless charging.
In China, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes in three variants with varying specifications and prices, starting from CNY 6,499. The phone is set to go on sale in China on February 27. Regarding global availability, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has hinted at the device’s appearance at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, with expectations for a subsequent launch in Europe but not officially in the US.
