With the top horror films available on Amazon Prime in March, things are getting ugly. Following its Peacock exclusive run, Blumhouse’s phenomenally successful Five Nights at Freddy’s streamed on Prime.
This month, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Tobe Hooper’s insane follow-up to his award-winning film, will also be available on Amazon Prime, complete with chainsaws and chili cook-off. 1. Battle Royale (2000)
Although it may seem unbelievable, this ground-breaking story of Japanese high school students who were forced to kill each other in order to survive for a TV show is now 24 years old. The movie’s effect hasn’t diminished with time, and if you haven’t seen it before, this is a fantastic opportunity to do so thanks to Amazon Prime.
The film, which was directed by Kinji Fukasaku and was based on the novel by Koushun Takami, stars Tatsuya Fujiwara, Aki Maeda, Tarō Yamamoto, Chiaki Kuriyama, and Beat Takeshi.
2. Five Nights at Freddy’s (2023)
You now have the opportunity to view Blumhouse’s phenomenally successful film Five Nights at Freddy’s on Amazon Prime if you were unable to catch it when it was available for exclusive streaming on Peacock earlier this year or in cinemas. Choi Min-sik, most recognized for his part in the stunning and unsettling movie Oldboy, and Lee Byung-hun, The Good, the Bad, and the Weird, are the film’s main stars. Kim Jee-woon directed the film I Saw the Devil. You aren’t ready for this movie, no matter how much you believe you know about serial killer films.
4. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (2015)
Gregory Plotkin’s first feature film, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, is the sixth installment in the Paranormal Activity series. 5. Pet Sematary (1989)
The film Pet Sematary, which director Mary Lambert adapted from one of Stephen King’s scariest books, has endured over time. The casting of Fred Gwynne as Jud Crandall is a fan favorite. throughout addition, Blaze Berdahl, Miko Hughes, Denise Crosby, Dale Midkiff, and King himself make brief appearances throughout the movie. All of that and a Ramones theme song, that’s really it.
6. Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow, which is based on the book by Washinton Irving, features an amazing ensemble cast that includes Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci, Miranda Richardson, Michael Gambon, Casper Van Dien, and Christopher Walken. 7. Species: The Awakening (2007)
The fourth and final movie in the Species series is Species: The Awakening. Director Ben Ripley, who also directed Source Code, directed it with Ben Cross, Helena Mattsson, Dominic Keating, and Marlene Favela in the lead roles. In the movie, Miranda Hollander plays a college lecturer who, after being brought to the hospital, unexpectedly transforms into a lethal alien. In an attempt to save her, her uncle transports her to Mexico, where complications arise.
8. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)
Director Tobe Hooper was commissioned to create a follow-up to the critically acclaimed film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which was a work of artistic dread. Hooper made the decision to increase the gore and turn the sequel into an even darker comedy than the original. In the film, Jim Siedow plays The Cook once again, Bill Moseley plays Chop Top, Caroline Williams plays Stretch Brock, and Dennis Hopper, who is seeking revenge, dons a cowboy hat and twin chainsaws as Lefty Enright. Crazy and insane, this film really goes for it.
9. What Lies Beneath (2000)
Robert Zemeckis’s more subtly frightening film What Lies Beneath features Harrison Ford, Michelle Pfeiffer, James Remar, and Diana Scarwid. This lavish horror film tells the ghost story of a wealthy Vermont couple whose peaceful lives is upended by an enigmatic presence.
