    With the top horror films available on Amazon Prime in March, things are getting ugly. Following its Peacock exclusive run, Blumhouse’s phenomenally successful Five Nights at Freddy’s streamed on Prime.

    This month, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Tobe Hooper’s insane follow-up to his award-winning film, will also be available on Amazon Prime, complete with chainsaws and chili cook-off.     Although it may seem unbelievable, this ground-breaking story of Japanese high school students who were forced to kill each other in order to survive for a TV show is now 24 years old. The movie’s effect hasn’t diminished with time, and if you haven’t seen it before, this is a fantastic opportunity to do so thanks to Amazon Prime.

    The film, which was directed by Kinji Fukasaku and was based on the novel by Koushun Takami, stars Tatsuya Fujiwara, Aki Maeda, Tarō Yamamoto, Chiaki Kuriyama, and Beat Takeshi.

    Director Tobe Hooper was commissioned to create a follow-up to the critically acclaimed film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which was a work of artistic dread. Hooper made the decision to increase the gore and turn the sequel into an even darker comedy than the original. In the film, Jim Siedow plays The Cook once again, Bill Moseley plays Chop Top, Caroline Williams plays Stretch Brock, and Dennis Hopper, who is seeking revenge, dons a cowboy hat and twin chainsaws as Lefty Enright.
