The Islamic State terror group has claimed responsibility for the assault on their Telegram channel. The terror group has stated that its fighters targeted a large gathering on the outskirts of the Russian capital.
This devastating act, now under investigation as an act of terrorism, marks the deadliest attack in Russia in recent memory. Eyewitnesses described the horrifying scene as several gunmen stormed the concert hall, indiscriminately firing automatic weapons and igniting panic among attendees. The resulting chaos led to numerous casualties and injuries, compounded by a massive blaze that engulfed the venue.

The US Embassy in Russia has issued a statement on the attack, “The U.S. Embassy in Moscow is horrified by reports coming from the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow. We offer our sincere condolences to the Russian people for the lives lost and to those injured in tonight’s attack.”
The statement added, “The U.S. government’s ability to provide routine or emergency services to U.S. citizens in Russia is severely limited, particularly in areas far from the U.S. embassy in Moscow, due to Russian government limitations on travel for U.S. embassy personnel and staffing, and the ongoing suspension of operations, including consular services, at U.S. consulates in Russia.”
