Trigger Warning: This is an article about suicide.

The recent headline story was that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was involved in a shooting incident outside his Bandra house. A total of six suspects have been taken into custody for involvement in the shooting. Anuj Thapan, one of the accused in the case, supposedly committed suicide on May 1st.

Nonetheless, his mother implicated foul play, claiming that he was indeed murdered. Now, the high court is asking for a status report on the investigation of the case.

HC orders a status report on the alleged suicide of the accused in the Salman Khan case.

Anuj Thapan, implicated in the Salman Khan house shooting drama, has reportedly committed suicide. However, investigations were ongoing. As per PTI reports, the Bombay High Court (HC) has asked for information about the progress of the inquiry into the supposed suicide of a suspect, the newspaper reported.

A bench of justices Sandeep Marne and Neela Gokhale also instructed for the preservation of CCTV footage from the police station and the call records of the police officials concerned.

The claim was submitted by Rita Devi, Anuj Thapan’s mother, whose son died on May 1 in the restroom of their Mumbai lockup. Rita accused her son of having been killed rather than died as the police argued that Thapan had committed suicide.

The body of the complaint stated that Thapan had been subjected to physical abuse and torture in police custody. Devi begged the HC to order the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to research her son’s death. A report of accidental death (ADR) was filed. The investigation was handed into the Department of Criminal Investigation of the State (CID) on the 3rd of May, Shinde has told PTI.

Devi’s defense counsel demanded that the inquiry be taken over by the CBI as 14 days have already lapsed since Thapan’s death. The court said that it couldn’t just take the investigation and ask for the updates of both of them.

In this case, we will talk about the firing of Salman Khan.

On the 14th of April, there was a shooting incident outside Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, situated in the posh Bandra area of Mumbai. Lawrence Bishnoi who is currently under custody in Sabarmati Central Prison, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and Anmol Bishnoi, believed to be living in either the United States or Canada, have been linked to the shooting event.
