    PM Modi leads the 10th International Yoga Day in Srinagar, emphasizing "Yoga for Self and Society." Despite rain, the event highlights yoga's global impact.

    On the 10th International Day of Yoga, PM Narendra Modi stated the world’s need for yoga for health and co-existence. It reiterated this year’s theme ‘Yoga for Self and Society’.

    On Friday marked the 10th International Day of Yoga, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in yoga practices in the city of Srinagar in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

    As planned the event was expected to start at 6. Meanwhile, the press conference addressing the protest which started at 30 am at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), located on the banks of the Dal Lake, was called off due to rain in the city.

    Later, the Prime Minister also posted pictures of Dal Lakeshore, after the rain had ceased as well.

    In this year’s event, it was evidenced that yoga has greatly influenced young people in the way they think and move. The event is supposed to gather thousands of people to practice Yoga and improve health and quality of life worldwide.

    The theme of the current Yoga Day celebrations, “Yoga for Self and Society,” captures the essence of yoga and its significance in promoting health and unity within society.

    PRIME MINISTER TALKS TO THE NATION ON YOGA DAY

    On the occasion, the Prime Minister also spoke at a rally and said, We are making new records in the world through the day.

    Blessings and regards to the good people of India, and those doing yoga across the world on Yoga Day: The culture of yoga is on an upward swing globally.

    Yoga Day is celebrated this year for its 10 years of journey, generally in 2014 I proposed International Yoga Day in the United Nations, this proposal was passed by 177 countries which was a record, and since Yoga Day has been making records.

    He noted: “Over the last decade, the growth of yoga has altered its perception; today the world is witnessing a new yoga economy for the future” From Rishikesh to Kashi, to Kerala the new paradigm of yoga tourism is emerging; tourists are coming to India to learn Yoga from the source,” he said.

    The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of yoga and its health advantages, adding, “Yoga is for self and society.”

    “As we mark 10th International Yoga Day, I urge everyone to make yoga part of their daily lives,” he stated.

    The Prime Minister praised Srinagar and added, “I have the chance to visit the land of ‘yoga’ and sadhana.'” We can sense the ‘ shakti’ that comes from yoga in Srinagar.”

    “Yoga promotes wellness, strength, and good health. It’s wonderful to be a part of the Srinagar program this year,” the prime minister stated.

    The 101-year-old French yoga instructor Charlotte Chopin, who received the Padma Shri this year, was also invited back by the prime minister.

    “A 101-year-old female yoga instructor received the Padma Shri this year in India. Despite never visiting India, she devoted her life to spreading yoga awareness. According to PM Modi, research papers on yoga are currently being published and conducted at esteemed colleges and institutes worldwide.
