On Friday, BJP leader Kirodi Lal Meena met with Jagat Prakash Nadda, the president of the party, in the nation’s capital. A day earlier, Meena had announced his resignation as a minister from Rajasthan due to electoral defeats in Lok Sabha seats he was responsible for managing. Meena, who oversees important portfolios such as relief, agriculture, rural development, and disaster management, had promised to resign from the state Cabinet if the BJP lost any Lok Sabha seats while he was in charge.

Resignation and Meeting with JP Nadda
“I was called to meet by Nada Ji. Following the discussion, Meena informed reporters, “I had said in public that I would resign from my ministry if our party lost seats in Rajasthan. “I want to stay inside the party line. I don’t have any complaints from the CM or the party. The minister stated, “I have resigned only because I pledged to do so in front of the public during the Lok Sabha elections. After ten days, Nadda has urged that they get together again in Delhi.
In keeping with his pledge made while running for office in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Rajasthan BJP leader stated on Thursday that he was resigning from the state cabinet and all other positions. Meena had threatened to resign as a minister if the BJP lost any of the seven Lok Sabha seats in eastern Rajasthan, which included the Dausa seat.
Internal Party Dynamics and Future Prospects
In the legislative elections, the BJP secured 14 seats in the state while the Congress-led INDIA alliance secured 10 of the 25 seats. Meena had campaigned in the districts of Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Kota-Bundi, Karauli, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, and Dausa in eastern Rajasthan. Only the Lok Sabha seats in Kota and Alwar were won by the BJP out of these. Murari Lal Meena of the Congress defeated Kanhaiya Lal Meena of the BJP for the Dausa Lok Sabha seat by a margin of more than 2.3 lakh votes.
“If my party loses, I have a moral obligation to step down. The CM and I had a meeting, but he refused my resignation. I have no grievances against the CM or the organization, nor do I have any hopes for any position.” Meena declared after making his choice public. On Thursday, state Congress head Govind Singh Dotasara asserted that some seats were given to candidates who were not endorsed by the highest-ranking members of the BJP.
Conclusion
A few BJP leaders are claiming that some seats were sold (to candidates) without their knowledge, but that they were nonetheless given the obligation to win those seats. So how would they win these seats for the party? People like Kirodi Lal Meena claim that certain seats were awarded to candidates without their knowledge, whereas Dotasara stated that they were informed the party needed to win such seats. Even though he helped the party win the state, he is not being acknowledged by the BJP central leadership and is not being met.
