A fresh update has come out regarding the postponement of NEET Counseling 2024. There were reports of counseling starting from today i.e. July 6, 2024 and now there are also talks about postponing it. However, the Ministry of Health has now responded in this regard and clarified the matter. Earlier, the Supreme Court had refused to postpone NEET UG counseling in several hearings.
Reacting to the reports of postponement of NEET counseling, the Ministry of Health said, ‘It has been observed that there are reports of postponement of NEET UG counseling in some media groups. It is clarified that the date of NEET UG counseling has not been notified yet, so the news of its postponement is incorrect.’

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) may soon release an official notice in this regard on its official website – mcc.nic.in. The NEET counseling case will be heard by a bench of CJI DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra. The bench will hear several petitions related to NEET UG 2024. After the NEET paper leak controversy, many students were saying that the counseling should be stopped.
NEET counseling is conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee / Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India for 15% All India Quota. General category candidates who have secured more than 50% marks in the NEET UG exam will be eligible to participate in NEET All India Counseling.

The counseling will be conducted in several rounds including Stray Vacancy Round and Mop-up Round. Students who have passed the NEET UG exam will have to first register for counseling.
After registering for NEET UG counselling, candidates will have to pay the fees, fill in their choices, lock them, upload documents and then report to the allotted college. MCC will release the complete counseling schedule, including the list of documents that are required for reporting.
