In several places, people were wading through knee-deep water while vehicles were observed drifting in the water.
Over 300 millimeters of rain fell in six hours, from midnight yesterday to seven a.m. today, at various locations. Suburban train services have also been affected by the heavy rains, and certain low-lying districts have experienced waterlogging,” the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated.
Major Areas Affected by Waterlogging
Schools closed: Under the jurisdiction of the civic body, the BMC declared a half-day holiday for all public, private, and college institutions. Later on, the decision regarding the afternoon class session will be made public. The BEST bus services and suburban train services were also affected by the heavy rain.
