Hizbul Hideout Discovery and Investigation
Security guards are seen examining what looks to be a modest but well-defended concrete bunker hidden behind a wardrobe in a residential building in a video that went viral online. Six Hizbul militants were killed in separate engagements in Kulgam, south Kashmir, during the operation, which also claimed the lives of two Indian Army soldiers.
Fighting the terrorists, two army soldiers—among them an elite para commando—lost their lives. Director General of Police for Jammu and Kashmir RR Swain discussed the operations and said that neutralizing so many terrorists was a significant accomplishment.
Significant Achievement in Counter-Terrorism
The Indian Army Chinar Corps wrote on X on Sunday, stating, “Chinar Corps Commander, Chief Secretary of J-K, DGP J-K, and other dignitaries and all ranks paid homage to Lance Naik Pardeep Kumar and Sepoy Pravin Janjal Prabhakar, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty in Kulgam on 06 Jul 2024.”
The initial conflict occurred in Madergam, where a soldier lost his life. Four terrorists were slain in the second engagement in Chinigam, Kulgam, and one Army man was killed in battle. All of the terrorists were members of the Hizbul Mujahideen, and one of them was recognized as the organization’s local commander.
Yawar Bashir Dar, Tawheed Ahmad Rather, Shakeel Ahmad Wani, and Zahid Ahmad Dar were the four terrorists who were slain in Chinigam. According to NDTV, the two terrorists slain in Madergam were named Faisal and Adil. These acts of terror occur in South Kashmir during the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
