A lavish three-day event will precede the big wedding, which is scheduled for July in Mumbai.
To honor Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s marriage, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Bob Iger will be present at a pre-wedding gathering alongside Bollywood superstars, Indian business and political heavyweights, and cricket players.
Radhika Merchant, 29, is the daughter of businessman Viren Merchant, while Anant Ambani, 28, is the youngest son of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, one of the richest men in the world.
According to an official Reliance Industries guest list seen by The National, pop sensation Rihanna, Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh, Bollywood music duo Ajay-Atul, and American illusionist David Blaine are among the performers scheduled to appear at the opulent three-day celebration, which is scheduled to take place in Jamnagar, Gujarat, on India’s west coast.
This is a prelude to the major wedding in Mumbai on July 12.
In addition to Disney CEO Bob Iger and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, prominent business figures attending the Jamnagar celebration include Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, and Samsung Electronics executive chairman Jay Lee.
Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the governor of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Ivanka Trump, the former White House adviser, Klaus Schwab, the chair of the World Economic Forum, Fareed Zakaria, the journalist, and former Swedish prime minister Carl Bildt are among those who will be joining them.
Along with King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan and Queen Jetsun Pema, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Prime Minister of Qatar, is expected to attend.
The Indian players Rohit Sharma, M S Dhoni, K L Rahul, Hardik and Krunal Pandya, and Sachin Tendulkar will also be there.
The following celebrities will represent Bollywood: Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna, Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and more.
Superstar Rajinikanth from South Indian Industry will also be present.
The bride-to-be and groom got engaged in December 2022 at a temple in Rajasthan, and in January of last year, they hosted a star-studded engagement party that was attended by many of Bollywood’s biggest names.
Numerous pre-wedding rituals have already occurred, such as the lagan lakhvanu ceremony that happened earlier this month. The official wedding invitation is presented to the gods in the traditional Gujarati rite in order to obtain their blessing before it is distributed to the guests.
The reason the Ambanis picked Jamnagar for their pre-wedding gathering was because it was “the place closest to our hearts,” according to their invitation.
The invitation states, “We took this arid region and turned it into a bustling green community by planting more than 10 million trees here over the years. Taking the spirit of this initiative a step further, Anant has lovingly nurtured this complex into a haven of care and compassion for over thousands of rescued animals.”
