Ranbir Kapoor’s epic film Ramayana hits legal roadblock

The film just started entering theatres, which rapidly leaked several pictures on the internet. Ranbir’s appearance was also running in circulation.

Reports about Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana landing in legal trouble recently came out. Nitesh Tiwari directed this film, and Yash co-produced it. The film just started entering theatres, which rapidly leaked several pictures on the internet. Ranbir’s appearance was also running in circulation.

Ramayana lands in legal trouble due to the disruption of intellectual property rights. Allu Mantena Media Ventures LLP, Ramayana’s primary production house, is reportedly in a legal argument against Prime Focus Technologies Limited. According to a Money Control report, Allu Mantena Media Ventures LLP and Prime Focus Technologies Limited faltered over the rights of the title ‘Project Ramayana.’

Even though the discussion began as early as April 2024, they alleged that the agreement couldn’t be formalized because, in part, they did not complete the payment for the Intellectual property rights. “Allu Mantena Media Ventures LLP alleges that [‘Project Ramayana’] will continue to remain theirs and any utilization or exploitation of the script or material in it by PFTL or any other Defendants or connected person(s) would constitute infringement of the copyrighted work.”

    Production house plan

The notice also stated that PFTL has “no right, title, or interest in the said script or material contained.” Production houses plan to take legal proceedings to guarantee their rights “if warranted.” As of now, it’s to be recognized if this development will cause any stoppage to the project. However, no responses to the reports have been received from Nitesh Tiwari or Yash. Last month, Yash verified his participation in Ramayana after much speculation. Yash, while telling Variety, mentioned, “Making films that will take Indian cinema to the international stage has long been a dream of mine.

When in L.A., to link hands with one of the best VFX studios, but to my surprise, the man behind it was our Indian compatriot. Namit and I had various buy-sell sessions, and by coincidence, our synergy and vision for Indian cinema matched seamlessly. We brainstormed on many projects, and during that, the discussion about ‘Ramayana’ started. Namit already had a fragment of ‘Ramayana’ in his workshop. read I’ve always thought ‘Ramayana’ is a subject that touches my heart and had an approach in my mind for it. To co-produce ‘Ramayana’ by collaborating forces, we are training strength and bringing our combined vision and experience to make an Indian film that generates excitement and zeal to viewers.”
