    Rana Daggubati Eyes Aurangzeb Role: A Clash of Titans with Shahid Kapoor

    There is a breaking buzz in the film industry that Rana Daggubati is in a tentative discussion of playing the role of Aurangzeb in an upcoming period thriller which would go on to be based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Amit Rai’s film is not a stereotypical biographical movie but a dramatic period piece, easily distinguishing it from others and making the audience eager to watch it. But the cherry on the cake is that Shahid Kapoor has already said ‘yes’ to the depiction of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj which makes the audience much more eager for the movie.

    Earlier this year, it was reported that Shahid Kapoor had been roped in to portray the iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Amit Rai’s upcoming directorial venture, following his stint in “OMG 2: They are back with their new adventure for the movie titled “Oh My God 2”. The storyline of the film is to be produced by Wakaoo Films, while Dil Raju is to fund the movie. Preliminary shooting is expected to start in late 2024, this team is already preparing to retell this historical epic on the silver screen.

    With the incorporation of Rana Daggubati, the story gets a bit more interesting and he plays the role of Aurangzeb. A formidable actor particularly in action-oriented roles, Daggubati’s portrayal of Bhallaldeva in ‘Bahubali’ in particular adds weight and substance to the role. For instance, his choice of playing complex roles with layers of character makes him suitable for taking up the role of the mysterious Mughal king.

    The screenplay for “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj” has been penned very well, and the movie’s pre-production process has begun to ensure that every shot is nailed proficiently. The filmmakers are eager to bring a new approach to making the period drama to create a new spin on the historical piece in an effort to enthrall the viewers with an exciting storyline of the piece that is far from traditional historical movie making.

    The shooting of the movie is proposed to happen in mid-December and in order to give life to the great Maratha king on the big screen, Shahid has been leaving no stone unturned. It is reported that the actor is actually Obsessed with the role stating that he has really done his best and the role to him is all about the dream come true of being able to depict the hero of a nation on screen.

    If Rana Daggubati is signed to play Aurangzeb, In front of the audience real-life titans which however do not exist anymore will be faced with a cinematic clash. These kinds of empowered performances are elevated even further by the strong visual sense of the film and the intriguing character of Aurangzeb played by Daggubati which adds another level of subtext to the growing conflict between the two characters.
