Following her announcement of her cancer treatment, the Princess of Wales has received an outpouring of sympathy from the public.
Catherine called her diagnosis a “huge shock” in a video statement that was made public on Friday night.
She stated that following stomach surgery in January, tests discovered the malignancy, and she has since been receiving preventative chemotherapy.
People have shown sympathy for the royal in Berkshire, where the princess resides with her family.
As Jean Hood stated on the Long Walk in Windsor, “I think it is incredibly sad and my heart goes out to her and the family.”
Ms. Hood, who has spent 40 years living in the ancient town, told the BBC that the story struck a chord with her since her mother battled illness.
“Hopefully Kate will be absolutely fine, recover well, and go on to live a long and happy life with her family,” she said, referring to the time when her mother passed away when she was twelve years old.
“I just think of the children at this time and my heart goes out to them.”
Since undergoing major surgery in January, the Princess of Wales has been the subject of intense public speculation and a social media frenzy regarding her health.
According to Ms. Hood, “social media has a lot to answer for.”
Edward Bailey claimed to have seen Catherine’s video statement on Instagram, where he follows the Royal Family.
He stated that he felt it was “very sad in that situation that she had to come out and say it so soon” , stating: “When really she just wanted to keep it private for a longer period.”
He went on to say that he had been “fortunate” to meet Catherine during the coronation party of King Charles last summer when she visited the Long Walk.
The citizen of Windsor expressed his opinion that the “conspiracy theories that have been going around” were “quite sad” and “brought an extra layer of empathy for her – and the family”.
Saturday morning saw Rachel Vallencourt arrive in Windsor after making her way from Boston, Massachusetts, to the United Kingdom.
“It’s very surreal and very sad for Kate and the whole family,” the self-described “avid royal watcher” added.
“I can only imagine what they’re all going through and, having two young kids myself, I don’t know how she’s able to have those conversations.”
She went on to say that it was “lovely” to hear the Princess of Wales speaking positively in the video.
Additionally residing in the Berkshire town, Sharon stated that she “just felt very sad for her because she is going through all of this in the glare of the public” and that “it must be very, very difficult for her.”
“You have to consider how you’re going to inform everyone else when a member of your family is suffering from cancer.
“It’s nothing to do with any of the public, her children are the number one priority and she had to think of them before she thought about what anybody else needs to know.”
The people of Bucklebury, the town where the Princess of Wales was raised and where her parents currently reside, expressed gratitude for the courage with which she delivered her video message.
“I find it quite brave of her to accomplish what she did. Talking about it is difficult,” John Dugdale remarked, referring to Catherine as “a local girl.”
Kaya Waters thinks Catherine’s upbeat outlook and her family’s support will aid in her recuperation. Aiden Waters’ spouse passed away from cancer the previous year. He was thirty years old.
“Having a positive mental attitude helps with those situations massively,” she stated.
