    About the Movie

Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the main character in Blessy’s film The Goat Life. The movie is based on Benyamin’s novel Goat Days and directed by the National Award winner. Visual Romance produces the film, which also stars KR Gokul, Amala Paul, and Haitian-French actor Jimmy Jean-Louis. Arab performers Talib al Balushi and RikAby also portray important roles in the movie.

The movie tells the true story of Najeeb, a Keralan man who moved to the Gulf in the early 1990s in quest of employment. Then, he finds himself in the middle of the desert, working as a slave to herd goats while receiving little food and almost no water. The movie chronicles his adventure as he tries his hardest to get away and return home. Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan have both complimented the movie.

    Blessy on Aadujeevitham

For 16 years, director Blessy worked on this movie. 2018 saw the announcement of Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life, over ten years after Blessy and Prithviraj first talked about it.

“The greatest challenge in front of me was that The Goat Life is a subject with universal appeal and I would have to stay true to its narrative style,” Blessy previously stated, as quoted by ANI, about the movie. The book is based on a few true stories, and I wish to enthrall readers with every instance in which someone has an extraordinary encounter. Never before has fiction been so much weirder than truth. We are thrilled to present this masterpiece to viewers worldwide since the magnitude of the film begs to be seen inside a theater.”
