The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will present detained Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal before it in relation to the liquor policy case. The security of Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has been stepped up. In addition, Arvind Kejriwal’s appeal against a Delhi High Court ruling that put a hold on the bail that a lower court had granted him in the liquor policy case is set to be heard by the Supreme Court on April 23. Sources claim that Arvind Kejriwal might be taken into jail by the CBI.
On Monday, the federal agency recorded the Delhi Chief Minister’s remarks while questioning him in Tihar Jail about the liquor policy matter. Tuesday saw the CBI submit an application to a special court asking for Arvind Kejriwal’s production warrant. Today at 10 am, Arvind Kejriwal will be produced by the CBI before a trial court, most likely prior to the start of the Supreme Court hearing.

Supreme Court Appeal and Hearing
Kejriwal may be arrested in front of a court since he is under judicial custody in an Enforcement Directorate case. Even if the SC overrules the suspension of his bail, Kejriwal will not be allowed to leave if the CBI captures him. The AAP accused the CBI of “conspiring to register a fake case” against Arvind Kejriwal.
It was on March 21 that the Enforcement Directorate took Arvind Kejriwal into custody. He was granted bail and released on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh by a Delhi court on June 20. However, the ED filed a petition against the bail ruling with the Delhi High Court.
A Legal Turmoil for Arvind Kejriwal
The Delhi High Court postponed Arvind Kejriwal’s bail the following day and said it will make its decision on June 25. Then, his legal team petitioned the Supreme Court, insisting that the hold on his bail be lifted. The Supreme Court told Arvind Kejriwal to wait for the High Court’s ruling.
In its ruling on Tuesday, the Delhi High Court stated that Arvind Kejriwal’s release under the terms of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The Chief Minister was accused of violating it, was not outlined by the trial court.
