People are still waiting to see what changes Samsung will roll out for Galaxy AI, its suite of artificial intelligence features, ahead of the company’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked presentation on July 10. With companies like Apple (with Apple Intelligence) and Google (with its Gemini model) releasing significant changes in recent weeks, Samsung will have a difficult time differentiating itself from the competition. According to reports, Samsung may expand the availability of its Live Translate feature to include third-party apps like WhatsApp. The company also declared earlier this month that Galaxy AI will be free to use on compatible Samsung Galaxy devices through the end of 2025. In addition to revealing Galaxy AI, Samsung is anticipated to introduce the wearable Galaxy Ring.

The New 3D Asset Creation Model from Meta
A new artificial intelligence system that Meta unveiled earlier this month can produce excellent 3D objects from text instructions in less than 60 seconds. According to a research report by Meta researchers, the 3DGen system is based on two technical components designed for text-to-3D and text-to-texture generation: Meta 3D AssetGen and Meta 3D TextureGen. In less than a minute, 3DGen can create 3D assets with high prompt fidelity and high-quality 3D shapes and textures, claims the Meta study report. Additionally, physically based rendering is supported. The new AI system may come in useful for augmented reality and virtual reality applications, as well as video game production.
A Tool for Tabular Data Analysis
A new generative AI tool developed by researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) may facilitate users’ analysis of tabular data. An MIT news release stated that the GenSQL program could be used with a few keystrokes to produce synthetic data, discover anomalies, guess missing values, and make predictions. The new tool is based on SQL (structured query language), a data management computer language that was first released in 1974. The researchers discovered that GenSQL is faster and more accurate than other AI-based data analysis tools, according to the press release.
