Authorities have remanded YouTuber Elvish Yadav to 14 days of judicial custody in connection with the snake venom case.
In early November, raids in Noida Sector 49 seized five cobras. Authorities implicated individuals associated with the name Elvish in subsequent investigations.
In February, police officials revealed results from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report, confirming the presence of cobra and krait snake venom in samples collected from the site.
After the interrogation, authorities apprehended him, along with five others. They were all accused of violating the Wildlife (Protection) Act and Section 120A (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, allegedly for supplying snake venom for an event in Noida’s Sector 51.
The police official alleged that the resident of Gurugram had been withholding information.
An FIR under the Wildlife Protection Act-1972 was lodged against Elvish Yadav and others. Today, he was questioned and later presented before the court, with the NDPS Act’s sections added to the case.
On November 7, 2023, Yadav was questioned regarding the case, claiming that singer Fazilpuria supplied the snakes for the alleged rave party in Noida. A separate video emerged showing Yadav handling snakes, but Fazilpuria clarified it was from one of his music video shoots.
Elvish Yadav, aka Siddhartha Yadav, encountered legal issues with an FIR filed against him in Gurugram. The accusation involved physical assault against another YouTuber, captured on video and circulated on social media.
Elvish Yadav asserted his absence at the party.
