 Kalki 2898 AD: Success Anticipated
With great anticipation, Nag Ashwin’s film made the rounds of theaters on June 27. According to the director, the movie starts in Mahabharat and finishes in Kali Yug at the Synapse 2024 event in Gurgaon, implying a link to the legend of Mahabharat.
“Our film begins in the Mahabharata and ends in 2898,” he declared. The movie goes by that title; it’s named Kalki 2898 AD. It covers 6,000 years of time and space. Thus, the task at hand is to imagine possible universes while maintaining Indian characteristics and avoiding a Blade Runner-esque aesthetic. The trailer for the Mahabharat episode teases several celebrity cameos, including Malvika Nair as Uttara.
The following are the top 6 things to consider before seeing the science fiction movie in theaters:
1) A dystopian science fiction movie called Kalki 2898 AD blends mythology and science fiction.
2) Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan are among its prominent cast members.
3) Prabhas plays the bounty hunter Bhairava, who works with an AI bot called BU-JZ-1, also known as Bujji. During their shared travels, Bujji is in charge of a three-wheeled vehicle.
4) Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai and Jayem Automotives in Coimbatore specially constructed the AI bot Bujji’s body. Two Mahindra electric motors provide power. According to a TOI article, the vehicle has a braking system, specialized tires, and a maximum speed of 45 km/h. It costs ₹4 crore for each unit.
5) In the film, Kamal Haasan portrays Supreme Yaskin, a wise man with aspirations to find a new planet.
6) Deepika plays SUM-80, sometimes referred to as Sumati, after Kalki’s mythological mother. Ashwatthama is a character played by Amitabh who is condemned for eternity.
₹200 crore for Kalki 2898 AD
Kalki 2898 AD is projected to earn more than Rs 120 crore in India and 60 crore overseas, totaling over 180 crore on its opening day. It might even reach Rs 200 crore as per sacnilk. If it does, it will be the third Indian movie after RRR and Bahubali 2 to achieve this feat.
Kalki 2898 AD: Whereabouts
Nag Ashwin is the writer and director of the planned 2024 Indian epic dystopian science fiction film Kalki 2898 AD. Under the name Vyjayanthi Movies, C. Aswani Dutt is the film’s producer. After being screened in Telugu, a Hindi retake was made. Given that it took place in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, Hindu scriptures served as an inspiration. Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Brahmanandam, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani play major parts in the film.
