Babil Khan, born in 1998, is one of India’s rising cinema stars following in the footsteps of his legendary father Irrfan Khan. Before Babil began acting, he dabbled in filmmaking, serving as a camera assistant on the set of the 2017 movie Qarib Qarib Single. He learned the ropes of cinema during his time as a camera assistant, an experience that likely prepared him for his future role.

His big-screen debut came in the aftermath of Qala in 2022, a dark psychological thriller on Netflix for which he received rave reviews, citing his raw talent and intense on-screen charisma. This scenario marked the beginning of comparisons to his father, a towering figure in Indian cinema, but Babil is eager to forge a new path.

After his arrival, Babil featured in the coming-of-age drama Friday Night Plan and the miniseries The Railway Men alongside R Madhavan and Kay Kay Menon. He was signed for a part in The Umesh Chronicles, in which he will star alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Kriti Sanon.
