Bhaiyya Ji Review: Manoj Bajpayee’s Unlikely Robinhood Stumbles in Execution.

Especially if led by Manoj Bajpayee, the actor, who has proved several times that he is capable of creating powerful characterizations.

Who does not like to have a little melodramatic at times, you know, live a little dangerously? Especially if led by Manoj Bajpayee, the actor, who has proved several times that he is capable of creating powerful characterizations. His new film, ‘Bhaiyya Ji’, however, has this grim undertone akin to Bhiku Mhatre [from Satya], and Bajpayee took this up as his vacation project to play out the action.

Manoj Bajpayee Embraces Action, But the Tone is Uneven

Speaking of Ram Charan, also known as Bhaiyya Ji, a man who used to be an infamous masked crusader who turns his back on retribution and violence after his father’s death in a gangland shooting [played by Bajpayee]. However, after his younger ‘step’ brother [Jatin Goswami] is killed by an overbearing father and son in Delhi, he rises to become the ‘Khalid’ again and goes back to his feuding way.

At the same time, it was fun watching Manoj Bajpayee indulge in the physical action, exaggerating it in true style. The elements of the film closely relate to the Telugu mass hero stereotype and differ only slightly in spirit. For the treatment it gets, in dialogues, in slow-motion shots, and more, director Apoorv [who previously worked with Bajpayee on ‘Banda’] provides Bajpayee with a heroic portrayal. But it doesn’t land. As it is, it becomes so far-fetched that even if it is a tearjerker, it is equally a jaw-dropper.

Amrita’s subjugation of mediocrity becomes apparent in the way she accepts the boring script wholeheartedly. Adult performers and dancers here include Ravi Krishna and debutante Nayantara while the male lead Ram Charan Teja looks natural, which requires a lot of dedication to portray an act with such ease.

A slim-looking Bipesh Bajpayee is shown leaping from roofs, single-handedly managing to overpower 10 men each time despite the fact that he was in a recovery process after sustaining major injuries. But you believe it because it’s Manoj Bajpayee” A comedian’s view on entertainment on the news is hilarious and makes it easy to digest all the seriousness we see and hear from the news. Still, there should be no need for lower-end VFX to be used in the film.

    A Missed Opportunity: Potential Unfulfilled

This scenario appears as though it is locked straight from the countless Telugu films that this large public loves. Once a man shouts loudly, ‘Yeh Robinhood nahi, uska baap hai,’ and everyone in the theatre starts laughing their guts out for some reason, simply due to the ludicrousness of the statement.

In fact, the main plot of the movie begins with a story, which would turn out to be quite worthwhile if one decided to throw the heart’s worth of passion into it, but hardly ever takes off. The concept seems like a half-baked brainstorming session that must have been written by the ChatGPT for this film.
