Chandu Champion: Vijay Raaz and Kartik Aaryan among others. Chandu Champion tells the remarkable story of Indian Paralympian Murlikant Petkar.
From an early age, Murlikant Petkar aspired to represent India in the Olympics and win a gold medal. It was deemed impractical in the past to represent India and take home an Olympic gold medal. He attends a nearby akhada to learn wrestling in spite of his father’s objections. He ends himself in the Indian Army as a result of a series of events. He continues to speak for the Indian Army as a boxer and later, India, as a paralympian swimmer.
Petkar has accomplished a lot in his life, but his accomplishments are kept a secret until he chooses to lodge a formal complaint against the Indian president for failing to give him an Arjuna Award. Watch Chandu Champion to find out why Petkar is vying for an Arjuna Award and whether the President of India bestows one upon him.
#ChanduChampion is SINCERE ❤️#KartikAaryan is earnest in his role, probably a role he’s worked the hardest on. Vijay Raaz is exceptional!
Kabir Khan especially excels in interval block war sequence as a technician!
A wavering screenplay but inspiring indeed! pic.twitter.com/JK3uYYORpX

This well-made film about the interesting life of Murlikant Petkar will amuse and motivate anyone who wants to serve their country in whatever capacity. The movie moves along at a great clip, never feeling slow at any moment.
The film’s seamless blending of comedy and drama gives it a lighter feel without sacrificing any of its seriousness; the Chandu Champion Title Track and Sarfira instantly evoke goosebumps, and they are used to great effect; the choreography of the song Satyanash is excellent; the boxing and war scenes are expertly handled; Kartik Aaryan fully lives up to his demanding role; Kabir Khan gets excellent performance after performance from all of his actors; and the end product is a film of which he can personally be very proud.
Because it follows a well-known formula, Chandu Champion doesn’t feel particularly novel or innovative as a movie. It always seems like you’re seeing something you’ve seen a few times before when watching Chandu Champion. Fortunately for Chandu Champion, it is crafted so exquisitely and with such love that the other admirable qualities take center stage.
Chandu Champion shines all the way! Kabir Khan excels again, and Kartik’s inspiring performance is a joy to watch. Mukesh Chhabra’s casting is perfect, bringing the ideal ensemble together. Of course kudos to Sajid Nadiadwala for backing such a motivational film.

Performances in Chandu Champion
Kartik Aaryan gives an honest portrayal of Murlikant Petkar. His physical development is admirable. He obviously put a lot of effort into the movie. When it comes to acting, the actor has demonstrated through Chandu Champion that he is not ‘Chandu’. Yes, the wide smile can be toned down a little.
Ayan Khan Sroha as the young Murlikant Petkar does his job perfectly. Tiger Ali, Petkar’s coach, is played well by Vijay Raaz. He gives the film greater legitimacy and authority.
Rajpal Yadav is quite endearing. Bhuvan Arora’s portrayal of Garnail Singh is remarkable. With their innate humor, Shreyas Talpade and Brijendra Kala contribute to the lighthearted atmosphere. The presence of the other supporting actors in the movie is felt strongly.
The final assessment of Chandu Champion is that it is a very well-made biopic that honors Padmashree Murlikant Petkar’s colorful life. Its familiarity doesn’t help its cause.
