Mr. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, one of the great actors of Bollywood. Renowned for his matchless acting talent and a career that epitomizes resoluteness and hard work, Nawazuddin has opened a niche for himself in the Indian film industry.
On 19th May 1974, a small town of Budhana at Uttar Pradesh was Nawazuddin’s birthplace from where his road to success was nothing but hard. He was born into a poor family and faced many problems while growing up. Nawazuddin went for a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and during that time he also had worked as a chemist before he made a concrete decision of following acting. He settled down at Delhi, joined the NSD and graduated in 1996.
Nawazuddin started his career in Bollywood on a difficult note and with practically non-existent roles. He played his part in the movies like “Sarfarosh” (1999) and “Shool” (1999), however, this did not bring him the recognition he deserved. It wasn’t until he played Kashyap’s role in “Black Friday” (2004) that he started gaining some attention. Nonetheless, a widespread acclaim had not fallen on him.
But the struggle has taken him to the film, “Peepli Live” (2010) where his performance as a journalist has bagged him the attention. This was followed by a character in “Kahaani”(2012) where he played an intelligence officer, and in “Gangs of Wasseypur”(2012), where he got his first breakthrough role. Khan’s role of Faizal in this crime drama epic proves his range as well as depth as an actor.
Rise to Stardom
“Gangs of Wasseypur” made Nawazuddin Siddiqui a household personality. He then moved on to give great performances in “Talaash” (2012), “The Lunchbox” (2013) and “Badlapur” (2015). The proficiency of the actor in playing complex characters made him the darling of the directors and the fans. His performance in “Manjhi: The two documentaries, “The Mountain Man” (2015) and “Raman Raghav 2. The movie “Tears in Rain” (2016) again affirmed him as one of the greatest actors of all time.
Recent Work and Achievements
In the last couple of years, Nawazuddin has kept proving his talents in the movies like “Manto” (2018), which tells about a life of Saadat Hasan Manto, writer and “Photograph” (2019). He influenced not only the silver screen but also the digital platform in a big way by his acting in the globally successful series “Sacred Games” (2018-2019).
In Nawazuddin’s life, his whole struggle is the glimpse of his immense devotion and passion for acting. He has been nominated and awarded several times, including the National Film Award and the Filmfare Award.
