According to Experts, Madhya Pradesh has lost twenty-five tiger marks so far this year. According to wildlife enthusiasts, more action was required to safeguard the species and its habitat.

    Tiger Deaths

According to the National Tiger Conservation Authority, the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve area has recorded the highest number of tiger deaths. The greatest tiger population, in Bandhavgarh, lost at least nine of its twenty-five tigers. Authorities claim that because the area cannot support the tigers’ increasing numbers, territorial conflicts account for the majority of fatalities.

According to wildlife campaigner Ajay Dubey, Madhya Pradesh needs to control tigers’ unexplained deaths. Madhya Pradesh has led the nation in tiger deaths for the past 14 years. Worse, there is a low conviction rate for poachers. Furthermore, he continued, “The responsibility of forest officials in the case of tiger mortality is not fixed.”

    Solutions

Given that tigers are becoming more and more numerous as cities grow, former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (wildlife) HS Pabla has stated that tiger management practices need to be reviewed.

According to him, remedies should be looked into before a serious threat materializes to ensure that wildlife does not become an issue. “Look for ways to keep people and stripped animals apart,” he continued.

“Bandhavgarh has the highest tiger density,” stated Prakash Kumar, assistant director of the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. As a result, they engage in territorial conflicts with each other that can occasionally be lethal. However, no poaching event has occurred.

    Conclusion

The current upsurge in Madhya Pradesh’s tiger fatalities highlights the critical need for enhanced conservation tactics and more stringent anti-poaching laws. The state has formidable obstacles in striking a balance between safeguarding wildlife and advancing human settlement, given the expanding tiger population and constricted habitat. The survival of tigers in India depends on finding creative and long-lasting solutions to these problems, as the country works to protect its national animal.
