About the American Independence Day
Independence Day in the United States is an annual celebration of nationhood, marking the passage of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Initially modeled on the king’s birthday, it played a significant role in Anglo-American political tradition. During the revolutionary movement, patriots used celebrations to protest resistance to Parliament’s legislation and laud King George III as a defender of English liberties. With the growth of American society, the Fourth of July became a patriotic tradition.
