    Plot

At IMA, Uday (Darshan Kumaar) is undergoing training. But he makes the snap choice to leave the service because he is unsure if he wants to pursue a career in the military or not. When he gets back home, he doesn’t tell his mother Neena Gupta the true reason he’s returning until she discovers it for herself.

Since he turned five years old, Uday has not seen his father, Rajnarayan Singh (Anupam Kher). A beautiful day comes when Rajnarayan calls his wife to beg her to let their son Uday know that he’s not feeling well and that he’d like to visit him. Reluctantly, Uday visits his father, to whom he responds extremely coldly for a few days until learning of the political quagmire his father finds himself in as a result of the difficult case he has taken on.

Satish Kaushik, the accuser that Rajnarayan is defending, goes into great detail about how his daughter Arya passed away and describes how Rajnarayan is a noble man with a noble heart who is defending him even though he is aware of the risks involved in taking up a case as dangerous as the one in question when he has the complete freedom to choose not to. Additionally, he informs Uday that his father’s call was not motivated by self-interest. The narrative that follows demonstrates how Rajnarayan gives the parents of the deceased daughter justice.

Shortcomings in Kaagaz 2: Areas Where Satish Kaushik’s Final Film Falls Short

For the most of its running duration, Kaagaz 2 falls short of realizing its central conflict. Setting up and then getting to the point takes too long. There are numerous ongoing plots that do not contribute in the slightest to the main conflict of the movie, which slows it down and lessens its impact. The absence of repartees is a fatal flaw, even though the courtroom scenes are performed relatively adequately. A defendant who was competitive could have been a little more interesting to see.

Even in his most recent picture, Satish Kaushik, who plays a civilian who loses his daughter as a result of the protests on the roads, is completely in charge of his craft. As Uday, Darshan Kumaar does a good job portraying his stern persona. In the film’s closing military scenes, he appears extremely competent. Anupam Kher is a very trustworthy advocate like Rajnarayan Singh. He is capable of everything. Poor writing deprives other supporting characters like Neena Gupta and Smriti Kalra of anything.

Kaagaz 2: A Critical Assessment of Satish Kaushik’s Last Film

Indeed, Kaagaz 2 brings to light a significant issue that affects civilians. But because of its poor screenplay and directing, the movie never manages to gain the essential momentum. The movie is worth seeing if you want to see Satish Kaushik in his farewell appearance or if you want to learn more about the disruptions that occur when protests and rallies take place on public property. Kaagaz 2 opens in a theater near you on March 1, 2024.
